In addition to translation and interpreting, they offer a range of search engine optimization services. They also provide sign-language interpreting and Braille transcriptions. They offer traditional human translation as well as an alternative blended option in which machine-generated translations are revised by human for accuracy (but not style) for lower costs and faster turnaround. Applied Language Solutions' TalkBase.connect workflow software permits integration between a client's content management system and Applied Language Solutions' client management software. The Applied Language Solutions website offers a convenient "instant quote" tool which provides an automatic translation cost estimate based on document word count, language combination, and whether the translation is of a "General" or "Specialist" text. We did some experimentation with this tool and consider Applied Language Solutions' cost estimates to be appropriate. They are certainly not the least expensive professional translation agency you will find, but their prices are consistent with the costs of paying experienced translators a professional rate. Their quotation tool offers separate prices for translation with and without proofreading by a second editor. We like transparency that this implies. Freelance translators who have worked for Applied Language Solutions have given the company a high rating on Translator's Café, an online community for translators; however, Applied Language have quite mixed reviews on Proz, another translators' community, where very low ratings are mixed in among the high ones, suggesting that a number of suppliers are quite unhappy with this company.
