Asiatis

Tel.:(France) +44 810 699 563, (Canada) 866 775 3257
Website: Asiatis.com

Asiatis originally specialized in translation between Asian languages and French, and they currently also work in a wide range of world languages. Their services include translation, interpreting, desktop publishing, and printing.

The Asiatis website lists the following areas of specialization: law, finance, industrial, technical, patents, pharmaceutical, medical, and luxury markets.

Asiatis's client list includes a number of leaders in the fashion and cosmetics sectors, such as Lacoste, L'Oréal, Givenchy, Hugo Boss. Some of their well-known clients in other sectors include Hewlett-Packard and Air France.

Comunicarte Traducciones

Tel.:+34 902 995 175
Website: comunicartetraducciones.com

Communicarte offers inexpensive translations between Spanish and a variety of other languages. On their website, they advertise around-the-clock service, seven days a week.

The Communicarte website conveniently lists per-word rates for translation and for optional editing. Their minimum cost for small translations is much more affordable than what many agencies charge, at 15 EUR (currently approximately 20 USD).

Please note that we have never collaborated with this company and cannot evaluate the quality of their service. However, we are worried by several aspects of their website:

  1. The English-language version of their own website is poorly translated. For example, here is what they have to say about their proofreading process: "In this part we compliance with our quality criterion of accuracy."
  2. We think their advertised prices are too low. Such low prices suggest that they are not paying professional rates to their translators.

For example, according to their website, Communicarte charge end clients 0.05 EUR per word for translation from Spanish to Galician. This means that they must pay their Galician translators LESS than 0.05 EUR per word which is not, in our opinion, a professional rate.

The client list on the Communicarte website includes a number of Spanish companies and organizations, as well as a large translation company, Trusted Translations, Inc., which apparently subcontracts work to Comunicarte.
